Margaret is the Head of the Employment Department and joined the firm in 1998 as a partner. Margaret read Employment Law at London University and since qualifying as a solicitor in 1983, she has specialised in employment law. She has considerable experience of advising employers on all aspects of employment and discrimination law and speaks often at lectures and seminars. Margaret has extensive experience of advocacy in the employment tribunals. Margaret regularly advises Financial Services clients including Banks and has been involved in many high profile cases. She has also acted in a substantial discrimination case for a regulated company which was resolved by an international mediation. Margaret is a non-Executive Director of one of the largest Health Trusts in the country and is Chair of its Human Resource Committee. Margaret is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Removal and Reinstatement Committee and also the Kent and Medway Acute Trust representative of the NHS Employers Confederation. Margaret was one of the project members of the National Patient Safety Agency's task force which produced a consultation and framework document "Back on Track" which is concerned with restoring doctors and dentists to safe professional practice. She is also a member of the City Personnel Group and the Central London Personnel Group, regularly attending their meetings. Margaret has contributed to books and articles on a wide range of employment law issues including the annual Charity Finance Directors’ Handbook and the maternity section of an on-line employment publication directed to HR Managers.
